Adair Will Support War Powers Resolution When Elected

SISTERS, OR— Deschutes County Commissioner Patti Adair, candidate for Oregon’s 5th Congressional District, announced today that she will support a War Powers Resolution if the war with Iran is still ongoing when she is sworn in.

“Our nation cannot afford another costly forever war in the Middle East,” Adair said. “There is no doubt Iran poses a threat and is a state sponsor of terror. I strongly support presidents of either party taking necessary action to protect America’s national security. But we are now more than seven months into this conflict; there is no end in sight, and Oregon families are paying for it every time they fill up at the pump. That’s why I will oppose giving any president a blank check. In January, I will support a War Powers Resolution to bring this war to a close, absent an imminent threat and Congressional authorization.”
